This is a classic three-tier German Christmas Pyramid, likely of Erzgebirge origin, crafted from finely turned and natural-toned wood. Standing approximately 12 to 15 inches tall, the item features a vertical axle supporting three rotating platforms and a top-mounted impeller fan with twelve blades, each delicately etched with geometric star motifs. The construction utilizes a combination of light-colored woods, such as linden or beech, showcasing traditional folk-art techniques. The lower level includes six protruding brass candle holders designed to hold traditional taper candles; the rising heat from these candles is intended to drive the impeller, causing the tiers to rotate. The various levels feature hand-carved miniature figurines, including a nativity scene on the base tier and possibly angels or shepherds on the upper levels, all enclosed by cross-hatched picket fencing with gold-toned finials. The craftsmanship is high-quality, typical of mid-20th-century German seasonal decor. Condition appears excellent with minimal signs of scorching on the blades, though some natural patina is visible on the brass candle cups.
