This assembly consists of six distinct vintage hand tools showcasing early to mid-20th-century craftsmanship. The collection includes two agricultural sickles: one folding Japanese-style sickle with a wooden handle and a heavily rusted curved blade, and a second fixed-handle sickle with a dark green reinforced spine on its curved blade. Central to the group are two galvanized metal latches or gate hooks alongside a primitive iron pry bar or 'cat’s paw' nail puller. The most prominent piece is a large pair of forged iron log or ice tongs, featuring long, gracefully curved arms tipped with sharp points and a scissor-action pivot mechanism with double finger loops. Materials primarily include hand-forged iron, carbon steel, and aged wood. The condition across all items shows significant signs of age and utility: heavy surface oxidation (rust), pitting on metal surfaces, and a natural weathered patina on the wood components. No clear maker's marks are visible in this view, though the construction suggests utilitarian production likely dating from 1920 to 1960. The variety of textures, from the smooth-worn wooden handles to the rough, corroded surfaces of the iron tongs, indicates long-term storage in a humid environment and extensive historical use.
