Sitzendorf Porzellan Rococo Revival Encrusted Vase

This is a decorative nineteenth or early twentieth-century German porcelain vase, displaying the elaborate floral encrustation and gilded scrollwork typical of the Sitzendorf or Meissen tradition. The piece features a light pink globose lower body transitioning into a flared white upper rim with heavily lobed edges. Its most striking feature is the high-relief, hand-modeled floral appliques, including large marigolds and delicate small blossoms with green foliage, seemingly emerging from the vessel's interior. The vase is flanked by two asymmetrical, gilded rococo-style C-scroll handles. The base is an ornate, pierced white pedestal with further gold gilding. While the overall structure remains intact, close inspection suggests minor chipping common to such delicate floral encrustations, particularly on the petal edges. The gilding shows minor thinning at high-contact points, consistent with its age. The craftsmanship is of high quality, indicative of late Victorian or Edwardian era decorative arts, focusing on botanical realism and exuberant ornamentation.
