The top is fitted with an elaborate gilt bronze rim or collar featuring scrolled handles and vertical ribbing, while the base sits on a cast bronze foot with scrolling acanthus leaf feet. The porcelain appears to be a 19th or early 20th-century European imitation of Chinese export ware, likely Samson of Paris or a similar high-quality French workshop. The glaze shows a bright white ground with varying shades of cobalt blue.
