Antique Victorian Hand-Painted Floral Porcelain Cabinet Plate

This is a circular porcelain cabinet or decorative plate, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (Victorian or Edwardian era). The plate features a scalloped edge with an embossed, low-relief border decorated with elaborate gold-gilt rococo-style scrolls and trellis patterns. The central motif consists of hand-painted or decal-transfer pansies in shades of yellow, cream, and lavender-brown, accented by soft green foliage. The background is a creamy off-white with subtle atmospheric shading. Regarding condition, the plate shows significant signs of age and damage: there is a prominent vertical crack running through the left side of the floral arrangement, several chips or nicks along the scalloped rim, and noticeable surface dirt and debris. The gold gilding exhibits rubbing and wear, particularly on the raised scrollwork. While no maker’s mark is visible on the front, the style is reminiscent of European production from Germany (RS Prussia or Limoges) or high-quality American hand-painted blanks. The craftsmanship is evident in the delicate petal detailing and the complex moulded rim, though the structural integrity is currently compromised.
