This is a classic Banjo-style wall-mounted weather station, likely manufactured by the Taylor Instrument Companies during the mid-to-late 20th century. The piece is constructed from mahogany-finished wood with a slender, elongated neck and a circular base. At the top, a decorative split-pediment finial with a central brass spire crowns the piece, accented by a marbled green insert. The neck features a vertical liquid thermometer with a scale marked for indoor temperature. Below the thermometer is a delicate gold silk-screened fleur-de-lis emblem. The primary feature is a large anaeroid barometer located in the center, housed in a brass bezel. The white dial includes ornate serif typography indicating 'Stormy', 'Change', and 'Fair', with an inner scale in millibars/inches. A smaller hygrometer is situated at the bottom to measure relative humidity. Its condition appears to be very good with a consistent semi-gloss patina and no visible cracks in the wood or glass. All brass elements show minor oxidation consistent with age. This style mimics the 19th-century Federal banjo barometers and represents a functional piece of colonial revival home decor which was popular between the 1950s and 1980s.
