This is a fine antique lidded urn or sugar basin, crafted from hard-paste porcelain in the Dresden style, likely originating from a German manufacturer like Meissen or Sitzendorf during the late 19th to early 20th century. The vessel features a lobed, bulbous body set upon a spreading circular pedestal base and is flanked by two ornate C-scroll handles with gilded highlights. The most striking feature is the high-relief encrusted porcelain floral decoration, known as 'Schneeballen' or floral appliqué, featuring vivid orange, yellow, and blue blossoms with green foliage that appears to grow across the front of the body. The lid is similarly decorated with a bouquet of applied flowers forming the finial. Intricate hand-painted gold scrolls and cross-hatch lattice gilding accents the rim, handles, and base, contrasting against the brilliant white glaze. In terms of condition, there are visible chips and losses to the delicate flower petals, which is common for this type of fragile porcelain.
