1962 Cayman Islands Queen Elizabeth II Definitive Postage Stamps

This pair of postage stamps represents two values from the 1962 definitive series issued for the Cayman Islands under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The first stamp, a 1/4d value, is printed in carmine and green, featuring a Cayman Parrot perched on a branch. The second stamp, a 9d value, is printed in purple and slate-blue, depicting an 'Angler with Kingfish'. Both stamps prominently feature the Annigoni portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in an oval frame on the right side, topped with the St Edward's Crown. These are vertical rectangular stamps with standard comb perforations. The engraving quality is high, showing fine line work in the portraiture and central motifs. The stamps appear to be in mint or lightly hinged condition, as they are displayed within a protective translucent glassine pocket of a stamp album. There are no obvious tears, though slight yellowing of the paper may be present due to age. The centering of the 1/4d stamp is slightly shifted toward the top left.
