This item is an oval-shaped lid from a decorative box, likely of Japanese origin, featuring complex mixed-metal relief work and Champlevé-style enameling. The lid is characterized by a central medallion depicting a seated Buddha figure set against a reddish-orange background, surrounded by a sinuous, high-relief dragon and the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji. The background is filled with a vibrant cobalt blue enamel with a textured, rippled effect. The construction appears to be a copper or brass base with applied silvered or bronzed metal elements to create contrast. The metal border features a fine beaded or 'nanako' texture common in Japanese metalwork. In terms of condition, there is notable wear and chipping to the blue enamel on the left and bottom edges, exposing the metal substrate underneath.
