This is a fine porcelain chocolate pot, likely produced by the RS Prussia (Reinhold Schlegelmilch) factory, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (Victorian or Edwardian era). The piece features the distinctive 'Hidden Image' or 'Lily' mold characterized by its ruffled, scalloped rim and footed bottom. The body is decorated with hand-painted polychrome roses in hues of magenta and soft pink, set against a creamy pale green and ivory ground. A significant portion of the upper body is embellished with a deep ruby or claret luster glaze, overlaid with intricate 22k gold gilt filigree and rococo-style scrolls. The lid is original, featuring a matching rose motif and a prominent, ornate gold-gilded finial in a flame or scroll shape. The handle is gracefully curved and accented with gold leaf. Upon inspection, the gilding shows minor thinning consistent with age, particularly on the handle and rim, though no visible chips, cracks, or professional restorations are apparent from the primary angle. The craftsmanship exhibits the high-quality translucency and elaborate molding techniques typical of Suhl, Germany-produced porcelain of this period.
