This is a vintage oval serving tray crafted from hand-wrought aluminum, a popular material for home goods during the mid-20th century (circa 1940s-1950s). The tray features a distinctive scalloped or 'pie crust' rim that adds a ruffled aesthetic to the perimeter. The interior surface is densely decorated with an all-over repoussé or embossed floral pattern, likely depicting wild roses or dogwoods amidst a foliage background. The center shows a slightly smoother, undecorated oval section, possibly intended for a monogram or simply to provide a flat surface for serving. Physically, the tray is light silver in color with a characteristic matte, slightly pitted texture common in hammered aluminum ware.
