This is a mid-20th-century floor-standing ashtray, approximately 24-30 inches in height, exhibiting a Neoclassical or Hollywood Regency revival style. The piece is constructed with a combination of materials: a pressed clear glass top, a fluted metal columnar shaft with an aged brass finish, a white marble plinth, and a cast metal decorative base. The glass ashtray insert features a sunburst or 'thumbprint' pattern around the rim, typical of depression-era or mid-century glassware. The shaft is fluted and terminates in an ornate foliate collar at the bottom, resting on a square marble spacer. The pedestal base is highly decorative, featuring cast figures that appear to be winged cherubs or griffins at each corner, ending in paw-style feet. Condition-wise, the brass finish shows significant oxidation, tarnish, and a dark patina consistent with age and exposure. There are visible signs of wear on the base, where the gold-tone plating has worn away to reveal a darker pot metal underneath. The glass portion appears intact, though the central mounting screw shows some surface rust.
