This item is a vintage set of Greyhound Brand dominoes, housed in its original, albeit worn, cardboard box. The box features a light blue top with a dynamic illustration of a running greyhound and the word "DOMINOES" in large yellow letters. The text "GREYHOUND BRAND" is visible on the left side of the box top. The box itself is rectangular, made of thin cardboard, and shows significant signs of age and wear, including tears, creases, and discoloration, particularly on the unprinted brown cardboard where it is folded around the ends and sides. The bottom portion of the box, which acts as a tray for the dominoes, is a faded reddish-orange color. The dominoes themselves are black with white pips, consistent with traditional double-six domino sets. They appear to be made of a hard, possibly bakelite or early plastic material, given the estimated age of such a brand. Two individual dominoes are clearly visible outside of the potential full set within the box; one shows a 5-5 configuration and the other a 6-2 configuration. The pips are round and neatly embedded or painted. The surfaces of the dominoes appear relatively smooth, though some slight surface wear or minor scratching may be present due to use over time. There are no visible maker's marks or specific signatures on the dominoes themselves from this view. The overall condition suggests a well-used but still functional gameset, likely from the mid-20th century, given the aesthetic of the packaging. The craftsmanship appears standard for mass-produced games of that era.
