Vintage Clear Glass Kerosene Lamp (Hurricane Lamp)

This is a vintage clear glass kerosene lamp, often referred to as a hurricane lamp due to its protective glass chimney. The fount is designed to hold the liquid fuel (kerosene or lamp oil) and is topped with a metal collar and burner assembly. This burner assembly appears to be made of a silver-toned metal, possibly brass or nickel-plated, and features a finely perforated screen or mesh around its top, designed to allow airflow for combustion and support the chimney. A small, black knob on the side of the burner likely controls the wick's height. A tall, clear glass chimney, tapered gracefully towards the top, rests on the burner, protecting the flame from drafts and helping to direct airflow for efficient burning.
