The bird is mounted on thin wire legs that descend into a stuffed fabric heart. The heart is crafted from a patchwork of earth-toned calico and checked textiles, primarily in tan, brown, and navy, featuring decorative outer stitching that gives a rustic, 'make-do' appearance. A single red pin or bead is centered on the front of the heart. The base of the sculpture consists of a weathered, antique-white architectural spindle mounted onto a square wooden pedestal. The pedestal displays a hand-painted checkered pattern in muted grey and tan tones. The overall condition shows intentional distressing and artificial aging (patina) to achieve a vintage aesthetic, including chipped paint, raw fabric edges, and oxidized metal wire.
