This is an impressive pair of large, polychrome-decorated porcelain lidded urns, designed in the ornate Italian Capodimonte or Ginori style, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Each urn features a vibrant canary-yellow ground with central white reserves depicting hand-painted figural scenes in the Rococo taste, framed by intricate gilded scrollwork. The vessels are flanking by high-relief figural handles in the form of feathered Grecian or Roman helmets over classical busts, painted in a striking palette of pink, blue, and teal. The domed lids are topped with artichoke or pineapple-style finials and decorated with floral sprays. Notable for their scale and complex modeling, the urns show a high level of craftsmanship in the applied figural elements and delicate overglaze painting. Condition-wise, the urns appear in good overall state, with minor surface wear and some crazing consistent with age. There is faint gilt loss along the rims and raised edges. A lot sticker numbered '418' is visible on one urn, suggesting recent provenance from an auction house collection.
