Pair of Mauve Ceramic Footed Lidded Urns

This is a matching pair of decorative lidded urns, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. Each vessel is constructed from ceramic featuring a heavy, high-gloss glaze in a distinctive muted mauve or eggplant purple hue. The urns stand on integrated circular flared pedestal bases that transition into a tapred ovoid body. A prominent neoclassical design element is present in the form of an applied acanthus leaf sprig on the front of each body, finished with a subtle metallic or darker highlight to emphasize the texture. Each urn is topped with a domed lid featuring a matching sculpted acanthus leaf finial. The glazing shows characteristic industrial imperfections such as 'pinholing' and slight unevenness in color saturation, suggesting a mass-production origin rather than fine art pottery. Notable condition issues include a significant visible chip on the rim of the left lid and smaller nicks on the finials and base edges, revealing the lighter clay body beneath the glaze.
