The garment is constructed from heavy-weight olive drab (OD-33) wool serge, featuring a single-breasted four-button front closure with brass 'Great Seal of the United States' buttons. The jacket displays a peak lapel and four exterior patch pockets with scalloped flaps. Inside the collar, a hand-stamped laundry mark 'H 6948' is visible on the tan lining, which served as a soldier's identification. The tunic is heavily decorated with period insignia: the right sleeve bears a Fifth Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) and a Technical Sergeant rank chevron, while the lapels feature the 'U.S.' and Air Corps branch disks.
