Tyco HO Scale M-K-T (Katy) 40' Stock Car #47150

This is a vintage HO scale model train stock car manufactured by Tyco representing the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad (M-K-T), also known as 'The Katy'. The car is constructed of injection-molded plastic and features a traditional reddish-brown boxcar finish. It includes white lettering with the 'M-K-T' initials and road number '47150' on the left side, along with the 'Serve the Southwest' slogan on the right. The car features a slatted-side design typical of 40-foot stock cars used for livestock transport. It remains in its original orange Tyco cardboard window box, which dates from approximately the 1970s or early 1980s. The box shows significant condition issues including a heavily torn or disintegrated plastic window, edge wear, and corner crushing. The car itself appears to be in relatively good condition through the window, though it may have some dust accumulation or minor paint imperfections common with mass-produced Tyco models of this era. This model features plastic wheels and horn-hook couplers, which were industry standards for Tyco's consumer-grade sets. While mass-produced, it represents a classic era of American hobby manufacturing.
