This is a vintage pressed glass footed compote (also known as a candy dish or pedestal bowl) featuring the 'Soreno' pattern, manufactured by the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation. The item is crafted in a vibrant 'Avocado Green' or 'Forest Green' transparent glass, characteristic of the mid-century modern aesthetic popular during the late 1960s and 1970s. Physically, it consists of a deep, wide bowl with straight sides that taper slightly toward the base, supported by a short, flared pedestal foot. The most distinguishing feature is the 'Soreno' texture, which consists of heavy, vertical wavy organic lines that run around the exterior of the bowl and continue down onto the base, mimicking a bark-like or water-flow effect. The rim of the bowl is smooth and finished, while the interior is polished and flat to contrast with the high-relief texture of the exterior.
