1959 U.S. 4-cent NATO 10th Anniversary Postage Stamp Plate Blocks

This is a collection of United States postage stamps, specifically featuring partial plate blocks of the 4-cent North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) 10th Anniversary commemorative issue, first released in April 1959 (Scott Catalogue #1127). The design features the NATO emblem, a four-pointed star, and the text 'UNITED FOR FREEDOM' and 'NATO 1949-1959'. The stamps appear in a light teal/blue and white color scheme. The visible grouping includes at least a pair of joined stamps and plate number margins featuring the plate numbers 26302 and 26237 printed in black at the bottom. The stamps are constructed of perforated paper and appear to be in unused, original gum condition, though they are being handled by hand which can affect the delicate gummed surface. Notable features include the clean perforations and clear alignment of the printing. Regarding condition, the stamps show some light foxing or spotting, which is common in older paper, and the margins show some minor wear near the edges. The collection is currently stored in or atop a tan manila envelope. The overall craftsmanship represents standard mid-20th-century intaglio printing by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
