Kosta Boda Pippi Old Fashioned Glasses

A pair of contemporary style double old fashioned glasses, likely designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta Boda as part of the Pippi collection. These glasses are characterized by their clear, heavy crystal construction and a cylindrical silhouette that slightly tapers toward the base. Each glass features a thick 'sham' or weighted base, which is distinctively adorned with a single, large controlled air bubble (or 'teardrop') suspended within the solid glass. The rim is fire-polished and thin, indicating high-quality craftsmanship. The glasses appear to be in excellent used condition with no visible chips, cracks, or clouding from hard water deposits; however, minor surface scratches on the underside of the base are typical for this age. This minimalist Scandinavian design originated in the mid-20th century but became a staple of modern barware. The lack of visible etching suggests these may be newer production pieces or the marks have worn off through cleaning.
