Germany 2 Euro Coin (2002)

This is a bimetallic circulating 2 Euro coin from Germany, dated 2002. The coin features a classic tri-layer construction: a nickel-brass plated nickel center (gold-colored) and a copper-nickel outer ring (silver-colored). The obverse side shown depicts the German Federal Eagle (Bundesadler), a symbol of German sovereignty, surrounded by the twelve stars of the European Union. Below the eagle's tail, the year '2002' is visible. The coin measures 25.75mm in diameter and has a thickness of 2.20mm. In terms of condition, the specimen shows signs of heavy circulation including multiple surface scratches, several prominent rim nicks (particularly at the 12, 2, and 8 o'clock positions), and a dull patina from skin oils and environmental exposure. The strike remains clearly defined on the eagles wings, though there is flattening on the high points of the eagle's body. A mint mark, which would indicate one of the five German mints (A, D, F, G, or J), is located just below the eagle's right foot, though it is partially obscured in this image due to wear and lighting. For an appraisal, this would be classified as in 'Fine' to 'Very Fine' circulated condition.
