Pioneer Mill by Alenue '82

This item is a limited edition intaglio print titled 'Pioneer Mill,' created in 1982. The artwork is printed in a sepia or burnt-sienna tone ink on an embossed peach-colored paper, which sits within a thick, textured off-white bevel-cut mat. The scene depicts a rustic wooden grist mill with a waterwheel, a stone wall foundation, and a surrounding landscape featuring a large tree and foliage in the foreground. It is signed by the artist 'Alenue' and dated '82' in pencil in the lower right margin. The lower left margin contains the pencil-written title 'Pioneer Mill,' and the center margin denotes it is number '165/300' in a limited edition series. The printing technique shows a high level of detail, utilizing stippling and fine hatching to create texture in the water and wood grain. The piece is housed in a dark wood frame with visible grain. The condition appears fair to good, though there is visible adhesive or a white paper fragment stuck to the right side of the protective glass or acrylic, and slight evidence of age-related toning on the matting. The embossing around the edges of the image plate indicates an authentic press-printed origin.
