This is a United States half dollar coin featuring the profile of President John F. Kennedy on the obverse side. Struck in 1980, this particular specimen is composed of a copper-nickel clad material (pure copper core bonded to outer layers of 75% copper and 25% nickel), as silver composition in circulating Kennedy halves ceased after 1970.
