1974 DDR East German Songbirds Stamp Series

This is a complete set of six commemorative postage stamps issued by the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR), or East Germany, in 1974. The collection features detailed ornithological illustrations of European songbirds, including the Buchfink (Chaffinch), Kleiber (Nuthatch), Rotkehlchen (Robin), Karmingimpel (Common Rosefinch), Blaumeise (Blue Tit), and Bluthänfling (Linnet). Each stamp displays its respective denomination (5, 10, 20, 25, 35, and 50 Pfennig) alongside 'DDR' and the year of issue. The stamps are presented in a vertical orientation with white backgrounds that highlight the vibrant, multi-colored printing of the birds.
