This is an antique porcelain pedestal compote or cake stand manufactured by Tressemann & Vogt (T&V) in Limoges, France, dating between the late 19th and early 20th century. The piece features a shallow, plate-like top with a distinctively scalloped or lobed rim, highlighted by a fine hand-applied gold gilt edge. The interior surface is decorated with soft, romantic hand-painted floral motifs, primarily consisting of pale pink and white roses nestled amongst muted green foliage. The porcelain body is a fine white kaolin clay, typical of the Limoges region, known for its translucency and strength. The pedestal base is sturdily constructed with a matching lobed profile that echoes the shape of the upper bowl. This item displays characteristic late Victorian or Belle Époque aesthetics. In terms of condition, there is visible minor rubbing to the gold gilt along the raised edges of the rim, consistent with age and gentle handling.
