This is a vintage Harley-Davidson 'peanut' style motorcycle fuel tank, likely dating from the 1970s AMF era. Constructed from stamped steel, the tank features the signature teardrop shape synonymous with Sportster models. It is finished in a weathered, matte reddish-orange primer or faded paint, possibly representing the 'Persimmon' or 'Sunburst' factory colors under heavy oxidation. A prominent black rectangular 'Harley-Davidson' block-letter decal is applied to the side, characteristic of the styling used between 1972 and 1981.
