This is a hand-blown art glass decorative object fashioned in the form of an owl. The piece is constructed with a 'spatter' or 'tortoiseshell' technique, featuring a clear glass base infused with mottled chips of amber, cream, and dark brown glass throughout the body. The owl possesses a distinctive stylized form, with a deeply scalloped upper rim that mimics ear tufts or feathers. Two yellow and black glass 'millifiori' or applied glass eyes are positioned on the frontal surface, while the sides and lower half of the vessel feature multiple applied clear glass prunts or 'wings' and 'feet.' The surface has a high-gloss finish typical of mid-century art glass.
