Czechoslovak Socialist Labor Brigade (BSP) Badge

This is a vintage Czechoslovak Socialist Labor Brigade (Brigáda socialistické práce - BSP) commemorative medal, likely dating from the 1960s to 1980s. The award consists of a circular bronze-tone metallic medallion suspended by a single ring from a rectangular red enamel suspension bar. The suspension bar is bordered in gold-toned metal with a decorative leaf-cluster rim at the top. The medallion itself features a bas-relief depiction of two laborers standing together, symbolizing fraternal socialist cooperation. To the right of the figures are the large block letters 'BSP' topped with a five-pointed socialist star. The outer rim of the coin-shaped section is inscribed with the Czech motto 'SOCIALISTICKY PRACOVAT, SOCIALISTICKY ŽÍT' which translates to 'Work Socialistically, Live Socialistically.' The metal shows a significant aged patina and some surface oxidation consistent with age. There is minor chipping evident in the red enamel on the bottom right corner of the suspension bar. The strike of the imagery is clear, representing typical Eastern Bloc mass-produced industrial awards of the Cold War era.
