This is a decorative Chinese-themed chess set featuring hand-carved soapstone or polyresin figures set upon a specialized folding wooden game board. The game board is constructed from a reddish-brown hardwood, likely camphor or rosewood, and serves as a carrying case with brass hinges and latch. The frame of the board is elaborately decorated with relief carvings of dragons and clouds, traditional motifs in Chinese art.
