The piece is notably recognized as the 'Honey Bee' or 'Beehive' pattern, which was originally a Lancaster Colony/Tiara Glass design produced approximately in the 1970s. The exterior features high-relief molded decorations including a central beehive (skep) surrounded by intricate floral vine work and flying honey bees. The glass exhibits a rich, deep red tone throughout, though when held to light, these pieces often show amber/yellow highlights known as 'Amberina.' The dish sits on four integral lug-style feet; one foot appears to have a small chip or internal fracture visible near the base edge. The rim is smooth and slightly rounded to accommodate a matching glass lid (missing here). The bottom displays a continuation of the floral and bee motif.
