Three-piece Haviland France Porcelain Serving Set

This is a vintage three-piece porcelain serving set produced by Haviland France, specifically identified by the Haviland & Co. Limoges backstamp visible on the underside of the lid. The set includes a large oval platter, a deep octagonal footed serving bowl with two gilded handles, and a conforming octagonal lid. The construction consists of fine white hard-paste porcelain porcelain featuring a delicate floral transfer-ware pattern in shades of dusty rose, marigold yellow, and cornflower blue, accented by gold gilt rims. The platter is oval with a slightly raised rim, while the serving bowl is unique for its sharp octagonal geometry and 'slot' style handles heavily decorated in polished gold. The lid mirrors the octagonal shape of the bowl with inset stepped molding. Based on the hallmark style, this set likely dates from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1890-1920), reflecting the Art Nouveau or late Victorian era aesthetic. The condition appears to be excellent for its age, with strong color retention in the florals; however, there is some minor, expected thinning or rubbing of the gold gilt on the handle edges and rims from handling. No visible chips, cracks, or heavy crazing are immediately apparent in the photograph, indicating well-preserved craftsmanship.
