Luxardo Meadowlark Figural Ceramic Decanter

This item is a vintage mid-century figural ceramic liquor decanter, specifically modeled as a Meadowlark perched on a blooming grassy mound. Measuring approximately 10 to 12 inches in height, the piece is constructed from polychrome painted ceramic with a matte or satin finish. The bird features a distinctive yellow breast with a black V-shaped collar, brown and scalloped feather patterns on the wings, and an open beak. The head serves as the stopper, as evidenced by the visible seam line at the neck. The base is molded to resemble a natural landscape with small red floral buds and green foliage, sitting atop a white pedestal base. A partially preserved paper label is visible on the front of the pedestal, which historically would have identified the Italian distiller, Luxardo. The craftsmanship reflects typical 1960s-1970s barware aesthetics, with molded textures to represent feathers and vegetation. Regarding condition, there is visible fading on the labels and some surface grime consistent with age. There do not appear to be major structural cracks or chips in the visible photo, though the cork within the stopper may have dried out given the estimated age of 50-60 years. Domestic bird decanters of this style were popular collectibles from Italian export companies during the mid-20th century.
