West Point Military Academy Commemorative Blue and White Transferware Plate

This is a circular ceramic commemorative plate featuring a blue transfer-printed design on a cream-colored earthenware or stoneware base. The center of the plate depicts Cullum Memorial Hall at West Point. The wide rim is densely decorated with scrollwork, oak leaves, and acorns, featuring several vignettes and heraldic shields. At the top, a shield displays the West Point crest with the motto "COUNTRY HONOR DUTY" and "WEST POINT MDCCCII U.S.M.A." Other shields display dates such as "1825", "1848", and "1930", each paired with motifs representing cadet life, academics, and military history. The transfer printing is crisp, suggesting a high-quality manufacturing process used mid-20th century, likely by a notable maker such as Wedgwood or Spode for the USMA. The plate is currently displayed in a metal wire wall hanger, which shows minor contact points. The glazed surface appears to be in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or heavy crazing, though light surface scratches from use or cleaning may be present under close inspection.
