This is an antique wooden icebox, also commonly referred to as an ice chest or refrigerator, from the early 20th century. It is constructed primarily of oak wood, showcasing a rich, warm brown finish that highlights the prominent grain patterns characteristic of oak. The overall design is rectangular with gently rounded top edges, giving it a somewhat softened, robust appearance. The front features a large, vertically oriented door, with what appears to be a smaller, narrower section below it that might be a drip pan access or another compartment. The top of the icebox has a metal handle, likely for lifting the lid to access the ice compartment, though the lid itself is not fully visible. A distinctive brass or bronze-toned plaque is affixed to the upper front panel, centrally located, bearing the impressed word 'ICELAND'. This plaque serves as both a brand identifier and a decorative element.
