These items are constructed from a lightweight core, likely foam or molded plastic, and are coated with a fine crystalline frosting or coarse glitter to simulate sugar. Most include small green fabric leaves and brown wire or plastic stems, with gold-toned hanging loops. The coloring is deep and rich, though several pieces show visible signs of wear, including 'bruising' or loss of the sugared coating, revealing white or pinkish spots underneath—a common issue with aged papier-mâché or foam collectibles. Additionally, there is a smaller assortment in a shallow gold metallic box, including a single sugared apple, a small polished pear-shaped ornament with a smoother, lacquered finish and realistic gradient coloring, and several gilded fabric leaves with wire stems.
