Vintage Japanese Ceramic Scottish Terrier Family Figurines on Chain

This is a vintage three-piece ceramic figurine set depicting a Scottish Terrier (Scottie) mother dog with her two puppies. The figurines are crafted in a stylized 'spaghetti' or textured glaze aesthetic popular in the mid-20th century. The mother dog is significantly larger than the two puppies, which are attached to her by a delicate, silver-toned metal chain representing a leash. The primary color is a rich, high-gloss black, accented by bright white hand-painted textures on the eyebrows, muzzle, and paws to mimic the breed's wiry coat. The interior of the ears and the tongues are detailed with a vibrant red paint, and the eyes are large, expressive yellow-and-black circles that give the set a charmingly kitschy appearance typical of 1950s-1960s novelty ceramics. The mother dog wears a red-painted collar.
