Saudi Arabia 25 Halala Coin (AH 1408 / 1988)

This is a circular circulation coin from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a denomination of 25 Halala. The coin is composed of a copper-nickel alloy, exhibiting a metallic silver-grey color with a visible matte patina. The obverse shown features the denomination '25' in both Western Arabic numerals and Eastern Arabic numerals (٢٥) on the left and right sides of the central field. At the top, the inscription in Arabic calligraphic script reads 'Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' referring to King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. At the bottom, the Hijri date '1408' is inscribed (١٤٠٨هـ), which corresponds to the Gregorian year 1987 or 1988. The coin shows moderate signs of wear consistent with circulation, including surface scratches, minor edge nicks, and accumulated grime in the recessed areas of the calligraphy. The striking remains clear, though some of the high-point details on the central emblem have flattened over time. There are no signs of major corrosion, though the luster has faded to a flat grey.
