The piece is crafted from opalescent (opaline) glass, exhibiting a milky, translucent quality with fiery blue and orange subterranean hues when light passes through the thicker molded sections. The form is a tapered flared vessel supported by a stable square pedestal base. Its primary decorative motif features deeply molded, stylized overlapping fish—reminiscent of sardines—arranged in a tight, crown-like cluster that extends from the base to the rim. Measuring approximately 6 to 7 inches in height, the glass displays varying density; the high-relief fish scales and details catch the light, while the recesses remain more transparent. The craftsmanship is indicative of high-quality French press-molded glass from the mid-20th century.
