Homer Laughlin Fiesta Red Salt and Pepper Shakers

This is a pair of vintage-style salt and pepper shakers manufactured by the Homer Laughlin China Company as part of their iconic Fiestaware line. The shakers feature a glossy 'Red' glaze, which appears to be a rich, tomato-toned scarlet characteristic of newer production runs (Post-1986) rather than the original orange-red 'Radioactive Red' from the classic era. Each shaker is designed with a round, bullet-shaped body, a small integrated loop handle, and the signature concentric ring pattern near the top. They are constructed from durable semi-vitreous ceramic. The bottom of each piece reveals an unglazed foot ring and a central hole for filling, accompanied by two brown rubber or plastic stoppers shown separately. One shaker base displays white marking or stamps indicating the manufacturer. The condition appears to be excellent for used tableware, with a high-shine finish and no visible chips, cracks, or heavy crazing. These pieces reflect the Art Deco influence of designer Frederick Hurten Rhead and remain highly collectible for their mid-century aesthetic and functional durability.
