Pair of Mid-Century Modern 1950s Staffordshire Black Cat Lamps

This is a distinctive pair of Mid-Century Modern table lamps, dating from the 1950s, featuring highly stylized black cat figures as their bases. Each lamp stands approximately 20 inches tall to the top of its original shade. The cat figures are expertly crafted from a ceramic or pottery material, finished in a glossy, deep black glaze, characteristic of Staffordshire ceramic novelties.
