The body is constructed with elaborate parquetry and marquetry veneers, showcasing book-matched burl wood panels (possibly walnut or amboyna) framed by darker kingwood or rosewood cross-banding. It contains two full-width drawers configured to look like divided panels, each adorned with ornate ormolu (gilt-bronze) escutcheons and circular ring pulls. The corners are embellished with cast bronze mounts (chutes) that lead down to slender, cabriole legs terminating in bronze sabots. A decorative bronze apron mount is centered at the base. Condition appears fair to good; there is a visible chip on the front-left edge of the marble top, and the wood veneers show age-consistent wear and minor fading.
