Collection of Eight United States Washington Quarter Dollars

This set comprises eight United States Washington Quarter Dollars spanning various years of production. The group includes two modern 'American Women Quarters' featuring the redesigned portrait of George Washington by Laura Gardin Fraser (dated 2022 and 2023 with 'P' mint marks for Philadelphia). These modern coins exhibit high luster and sharper strike details. The remaining six coins feature the classic John Flanagan bust of Washington. Specifically, the collection contains quarters from 1970, 1980, 1990, 1994, and 1996, plus one coin with the reverse side visible showing the traditional heraldic eagle. These older specimens are composed of a copper-nickel clad over a copper core. The condition of the older coins shows significant signs of heavy circulation, including flattened relief on Washington's hair, moderate to heavy surface abrasions (bag marks), and localized discoloration or 'toning' ranging from grey to dark brown, particularly on the 1970 and 1980 coins. No rare key dates or obvious mint errors are immediately discernible in this grouping; the coins primarily represent standard business strikes intended for general commerce. The group demonstrates the evolution of the quarter's obverse design from the mid-20th century into the 2020s.
