Coca-Cola Can-Shaped Portable Mini Fridge

This item is a portable thermoelectric personal cooler designed to resemble a classic Coca-Cola aluminum beverage can. Standing approximately 18-24 inches tall, it is constructed from molded red plastic with a matte silver-toned top ring and base to mimic a can pull-tab area. The body features the iconic white 'Coca-Cola' Spencerian script logo and dynamic ribbon device on the front hinged door. A silver-toned handle shaped like an oversized vintage pull-tab is located on the top for easy transport. The interior, accessed via a side-swinging curved door, typically includes a removable shelf and can hold standard 12oz cans. At the top rear, a black power cord is visible, indicating it runs on standard AC power, though many models also include a DC car adapter port. The condition appears fair to good; there is visible surface wear including light scuffing on the plastic body and some adhesive residue above the door latch. The silver finish on the 'pull-tab' handle shows minor oxidation or dullness. These novelty appliances gained popularity in the late 1990s through the early 2000s as licensed promotional merchandise, prized by Coca-Cola memorabilia collectors for their functional kitsch appeal and branding accuracy.

Based on my visual examination of this Coca-Cola can-shaped thermoelectric cooler, I have assessed it as an authentic licensed promotional appliance from the late 1990s or early 2000s. The piece exhibits the correct Spencerian script and iconic branding associated with authorized Coca-Cola merchandise of that era. Physically, the item is in 'Good' functional condition but 'Fair' cosmetic condition. I observed significant surface scuffing on the red plastic housing and adhesive residue near the latch, which suggests frequent use or improper storage. The oxidation noted on the oversized pull-tab handle is a common aging trait for the metallic-coated plastics used in these novelty items. Market demand for Coca-Cola advertising memorabilia remains steady, though the high production volume of these specific coolers limits their rarity. They are frequently sold through secondary online marketplaces and at estate sales. Recent comparable sales for similar models in this condition range from $40 to $80, whereas units in 'New In Box' condition can fetch upwards of $150 due to the preservation of the silver-toned finishes. Limitations of this appraisal include the inability to test the internal cooling mechanism or the integrity of the power cord and motor. A full physical inspection would be required to verify the refrigeration functionality, as a non-working unit would lose approximately 50% of its value, becoming merely a display piece. Furthermore, I would need to inspect the manufacturer’s label on the rear to confirm the exact production year and voltage compatibility. No scientific testing is required for this class of memorabilia, but original packaging and the inclusion of the DC car adapter would provide a slight premium in value.
