This is a 1987 American Silver Eagle bullion coin, minted by the United States Mint. The coin is composed of 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The obverse design features Adolph A. Weinman's iconic 'Walking Liberty' figure, draped in the American flag and striding toward a rising sun, holding branches of laurel and oak. The word 'LIBERTY' is boldly inscribed along the top rim, with the motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' in the lower right field and the date '1987' at the bottom. This particular specimen exhibits a high-contrast proof-like or uncirculated finish, with frosted devices against deeply reflective fields indicative of high-quality early production.
