Handmade Speckled Ceramic Ornament with Incised Blue Design

This is a handmade, circular ceramic ornament approximately 3-4 inches in diameter. Constructed from a light-colored, buff or off-white stoneware clay body, it features a heavy distribution of dark iron speckles or 'peppering' throughout. The front surface is decorated with a freehand, incised abstract swirling design that has been filled with a vibrant turquoise or cerulean blue glaze, creating a nice contrast against the matte, unglazed or lightly washed background. The construction is rustic and primitive, with slightly irregular edges that indicate it was hand-cut from a rolled slab.
