This is a rare, turn-of-the-century vintage boxing training apparatus featuring a complete set of sports equipment. The collection includes a wall-mounted speed bag platform, a leather speed bag, and a pair of antique boxing gloves. The platform is a sophisticated mechanical design, likely late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1890-1920), consisting of a circular wooden rim supported by a cross-brace frame. Attached to the framework are four visible tension springs, a high-end feature designed to reduce vibration and noise when the bag strikes the 'rebound disk.' The speed bag itself is constructed from dark, aged leather with visible lacing at the neck for bladder insertion, though it appears deflated, suggesting the interior rubber core has perished due to age. Hanging alongside are vintage 'mitten style' boxing gloves. These gloves are identified as being manufactured by Winston & Company, a known early-century sporting goods maker. The gloves are crafted from tan/chestnut colored leather, featuring soft padding and stitched seams.
