This is an exquisite hand-painted porcelain chocolate cup (or bouillon cup) with a matching lid and deep saucer, part of the prestigious 'Private Stock' line by Tiffany & Co. The set features a striking black ground decorated with a whimsical 'Trompe L'Oeil' or garden-inspired motif. The design depicts various flora and fauna, including reddish-brown rabbits, stylized palm trees, bunches of grapes, cherries, and colorful birds. The construction is fine white porcelain with gilded rims and handles. The lid is topped with a white and gold bud-shaped finial, and the cup features dual ornate rococo-style handles in white and gold. The interior of the cup is a crisp white, contrasting sharply with the saturated black exterior. The painting shows exceptional detail and vibrant pigmentation, characteristic of high-end custom porcelain work from the mid-to-late 20th century. The condition appears excellent with no visible chips, cracks, or significant gilt loss, though a temporary white pricing label ('Tiffany, 350') is adhered to the front.
