Vintage Blue Enamel Our Lady of Lourdes Medallion Pendant

This is a circular religious devotional pendant depicting the apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes to Saint Bernadette. The medallion features a vibrant blue translucent enamel over a struck metal base, creating a bas-relief effect. The central scene shows St. Bernadette in prayer on the left, looking up toward the Virgin Mary standing in a grotto on the right. Mary is depicted with a halo and traditional robes. The blue enamel has a textured, almost crystalline appearance beneath its surface, which is a hallmark of decorative vitreous techniques. The pendant is enclosed in a decorative gold-tone openwork border featuring a repetitive zigzag or 'sawtooth' geometric pattern, which provides a light, airy feel to the heavy central disc. It is suspended from a simple oval-shaped bail.
